Development Update – September 2023

DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING

Over the course of the summer months, Morgan E&P, LLC (“MEP”) engaged in the planning stages of developing the initial pad site and potential drilling plan of two (2) horizontal wells on that initial pad site.

MEP acquired its acreage rights during May 2023. The acreage is primarily flat without structures or trees. The majority of the acreage is bordered by existing county road.

Over the course of the summer months, Morgan E&P, LLC (“MEP”) engaged in the planning stages of developing the initial pad site and potential drilling plan of two (2) horizontal wells on that initial pad site.

  • The MEP team has been expeditiously preparing to drill the first two wells in the development plan
  • Drilling spacing unit approval by the North Dakota Industrial Commission (NDIC) was received on August 21st
  • Drilling permits approval by NDIC was received on August 31st
  • Pad site construction commenced in early September 2023

THE INITIAL PAD SITE

The initial pad site was identified and secured during the summer of 2023, with the execution of a Surface Use Agreement (“SUA”) with the landowner. The size of the initial Pad site is equivalent to 26 Olympic swimming pools or just under three (3) football fields.

MEP completed preparation of Pad site in mid‐September including moving dirt and compaction work, installation of scoria (red) rock on top of the dirt to provide solid base for drilling rig and facilities, and installation of plastic liners for the tank farm underneath the drilling rig setup to ensure environmental compliance and zero discharge.

DELIVERY AND SET UP OF THE DRILLING RIG

Hall Trucking was contracted to deliver the rig with the first truckload of components arriving in late September 2023. The Stoneham 18 drilling rig assembly was completed and operational prior to the end of September 2023.

MEP contracted with Stoneham Drilling/Western Energy Services to utilize the Stoneham 18 Drilling Rig to drill the first two horizontal wells. The rig is a “Fit for Purpose” drilling rig with minimal footprint and sufficient horsepower to complete drilling and operations safely and efficiently.

SETTING UP CAMP

Trailer rentals utilized to host contractors and personnel for around the clock shifts were delivered to the Pad site in late September 2023.

COMMENCEMENT OF DRILLING

The Stoneham 18 Drilling Rig became operational in late September 2023.
